Primrose fine-toothed

A perennial plant with numerous inflorescences collected in dense balls. Depending on the variety, the buds can be white, purple, ruby or lilac.

Prefers to grow on light soils with a slightly acidic reaction. It is grown by direct sowing of seeds in the ground in the fall. During the winter, the planting material undergoes natural stratification, and green mass begins to grow. however, flowering occurs only 2-3 years after planting. In the future, the bushes can be propagated vegetatively (by division).

Unpretentious tall perennials

Several well-known plants are deservedly considered among the most unassuming perennial flowers, capable of growing in any soil and blooming throughout the season.

Phlox paniculata

One of the most frost-resistant perennials, capable of blooming throughout the summer. Ideal for planting in shade and sunny locations. It has beautiful inflorescences and a delicate aroma.

Does not require watering or tying up, although the height of the bushes reaches 80 cm.

Lupine

The plant has a beautiful peduncle and is absolutely not demanding on soil quality and growing conditions. The only recommendation regarding growing lupine is that it is not advisable to plant it in places where strong gusts of wind are possible.

The flowering period occurs in June. Lupine reproduces well by self-sowing. Its advantages include the ability to improve the composition of the soil.

Tall perennial plants are in demand among gardeners due to a number of their advantages.

They are not demanding of care and can grow in one place for several years without complex additional care. Tall perennials harmoniously complement any composition, play the role of a hedge, and are effective for zoning a garden plot.

A huge variety of varieties and hybrids allows you to effortlessly create an original garden composition that will decorate the garden for several years without labor-intensive care.

Mordovnik

The perennial herbaceous plant Mordovnik is valued not only for its decorative value, but also for the fact that it is a valuable honey plant. The crop grows well in any climate, and the intensity of flowering does not depend on the level of soil fertility.

The advantage of the plant is that flowering begins in May and continues until the end of June. The diameter of the inflorescences reaches 5 cm, and the petals are painted a pleasant blue color. In place of withered buds, fruits are formed - small cylindrical achenes. They can be sown in open ground.

Tall fall-blooming perennials

Perennials, whose flowering period occurs in autumn, will help prolong the flowering of a garden flower bed in the autumn.

Boltonia

An unpretentious perennial with medium-sized, simple-shaped flowers, it begins to bloom in mid-summer. And it pleases the eye until the first frost. Boltonia is unpretentious and quickly grows into a lush bush up to 2 meters high. Grows in sunny areas and in partial shade, without requiring additional care.

Anemone hybrid

The plant has an attractive and original appearance thanks to delicate flowers located on thin stems and carved leaves. Anemone is not demanding on soil composition and watering, and tolerates temperature changes well. Therefore, it is distinguished by long flowering in the autumn.

Chrysanthemum

Magnificent chrysanthemums are distinguished by a variety of varieties and resistance to low temperatures. They will decorate the garden until the frosts. Their advantages include the ability to retain their appearance in a bouquet for a long time after cutting.

Chrysanthemum is not a capricious plant; it grows quickly, forming a lush bush. The height of the bush depends on the variety. There are bushes up to 1.7 meters tall.

Rudbeckia

Yellow tall perennial flowers are popularly known as golden balls. They bloom in early autumn, flowering continues until frost.

The height of rudbeckia reaches 2 meters. Any place in the garden is suitable for planting, regardless of the light level and soil composition. Golden balls do not require additional care. The transplant period is on average 5 years.

Orchid

This flower gets its name from the words dendron and bios, which translates to “life on the tree.” Kozhukhov’s program described how an orchid is grown. First, under a microscope, in a sterile room, the flower bacterium is transplanted onto carrot puree. Here, within 3 months, it ripens and a small stem grows. It is transplanted using tweezers into a small container. And again the orchid grows for several months. Then, the already formed stalk is transplanted into a cut in the tree bark, covered with moss and hung on a rope. In this position, the orchid will live for 3 years, and then, after the period has expired, the adult plant is transplanted into a flowerpot and sold in flower shops.

Options for using low-growing flowering plants

The beautiful flowering plants discussed above are planted both solo and in mixed groups. There are many options and planting patterns.

Design of borders along paths

White alyssum and violas may not be too original, but they create a bright ensemble and a joyful mood

A path from the gate to the house accompanied by marigolds is a good option for a summer residence

Container flower beds

Since almost all low-growing annuals are suitable for growing in container culture, in addition to stationary flower beds on the site, they are often planted in pots, flowerpots, boxes, including hanging ones. It turns out to be a kind of movable, mobile flower bed, which can be conveniently placed near the house, on an external windowsill, in a gazebo, on a terrace or in a garden.

Ampelous petunias become a bright element of the decor of the local area and recreation areas

A wide variety of household containers can be used as containers: barrels, bathtubs, basins, tubs, watering cans, buckets - there are many ready-made ideas. Why not implement them on your site?

Original flower beds

Low flowers can set the tone for the entire composition, especially if there is a general idea in its composition.

Blue and blue lobelia, white alyssum create the effect of sea foam on the water flow from an overturned large ceramic pot

Low-growing perennial flowers for the flower bed form a single composition with medium and tall plants.

The bluebells in the foreground harmonize well with summer dahlias, snapdragons and echo the delphinium

Rockeries

Stone gardens, alpine slides, rock gardens require special efforts precisely at the planning and creation stage. The floristic component plays a leading role.

The main accent of the composition is rock alyssum

Mostly perennial plants are planted among the stones, but properly selected, abundantly flowering annuals will add a touch of freshness.

Curtains of blue and blue lobelia, white and lilac alyssum create the effect of a stream flowing over the stones

Nepenthes Attenboroughii

The first place goes to the Nepenthes Attenborough flower. An unusual flower was discovered in 2000, on the island. Palawan by three scientists Stuart McPherson, botanist Alistair Robinson and Filipino scientist Volker Heinrich, who went here on an expedition to collect this flower. They first heard about it from missionaries who had visited the island earlier. On Mount Victoria, scientists discovered huge “jugs” of these flowers. These turned out to be predator flowers that “feed” on rodents. How these flowers were able to survive to this day is unknown. They are now being studied in MacPherson's laboratory.

Rainbow roses

Rainbow roses are a modern popular “antidepressant” in the world of flowers

This is the result of the work of professional flower growers, the meaning of which is a special technology for watering roses. It is important to know how to mix paints correctly. To obtain a flower of rare beauty, you need to make several cuts in the stem in the form of separate channels. According to each of them, initially a snow-white rose will “drink” water of a certain color. It's not as simple as it might seem at first glance, but the results are worth it.

By the way, other flowers can be grown using the same method, in particular tulips, chrysanthemums, orchids and hydrangeas.

Growing, planting and care at home

To ensure proper care of a bulbous flower, you need:

  • water in the morning and daytime 2-3 times a week, and if the plant is visible dying, reduce it to a minimum;
  • use a mineral dose of the substrate, fertilize with natural fertilizers;
  • monitor the air humidity and temperature in the room: from +20 to +25 °C - in summer, in winter - from +10 to +14 °C;
  • remember that bulbous crops are accustomed to bright light, so you need to place flowers closer to the sun’s rays;
  • propagation is carried out by seeds, bulbs, and for some species by cuttings.

More information about the conditions for keeping bulbous crops can be found here.

The information will be useful to florists who dream of choosing one or another bulbous crop for planting. If you follow all the rules of care and familiarize yourself with the characteristics of each plant, you can purchase any flower and safely grow it.

Belamkanda

The name of this plant is not remembered the first time, but the flower itself is very interesting. The leaves resemble the vegetation of iris and gladiolus, and the inflorescence... I can’t even think of anything to compare it with. But, it should be noted that this extinct type of flowers gained its popularity and appreciation through its medicinal properties and the original flower, which blooms for several hours and dies. Gardeners use belamkanda for landscape design.

Phloxes

This is the flower of my childhood. I don’t know why, but I really liked these names, as well as the flower itself.

Phlox is a perennial crop beloved by gardeners for its long flowering time and aroma. But the plant is very capricious: if you plant it wrong, it won’t grow, if you bury the root deeply, it will develop poorly, if you don’t add fertilizer, it will refuse to bloom. Although, I’ll tell you a secret, phlox blooms in any conditions, even without fertilizers and abundant watering.
